Oster 5838 ExpressBake Breadmaker

Other bread makers produce vertically orientated loaves that have an abundance of the soft, chewy center bread but little crust. If you want to make your own fresh bread for sandwiches or other uses that require a smaller slice, the Oster ExpressBake’s horizontal pan will give you the results you are looking for. The pan will accommodate a loaf between one and two pounds. It is also removable, for easier cleaning and to aid in removing the loaf in one piece. The non-stick aluminum finish will let the finished product slide right out without losing its crust.

While other bread makers offer the same 13 hour delay as this model, few have a ‘keep-warm’ setting. The Oster Bread Maker will keep your new loaf of bread nice and warm for up to an hour without drying it out or continuing to bake it. The control panel is large and well labeled for easy adjustment and so you can check where the machine is at in the baking cycle at a glance. Most importantly, the ExpressBake lives up to its name. While other appliances take at least 2 hours to make a finished loaf of bread, this model can mix, knead and bake a whole loaf in one hour.

Keith says that this bread maker is reliable and consistent, and produces a loaf shaped piece of bread instead of a chunk or tube or bread like other bread makers. Phil says that everything he’s made in the machine came out perfectly, whether he was using his own recipe or a store-bought yeast bread mix.
